Job Summary
The Housekeeping Director oversees all housekeeping operations within Lawndale Manor, ensuring a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role includes managing staff, coordinating schedules, maintaining supply inventory, and ensuring compliance with facility policies and state/federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily housekeeping operations throughout the community, including resident rooms, common areas, offices, and facility amenities.
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate housekeeping staff.
- Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness and compliance with safety and health regulations.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and linens; coordinate timely ordering of replacement stock.
- Develop and implement cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with other department leaders to support resident satisfaction and facility operations.
- Address and resolve resident or family concerns related to housekeeping services.
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
- Assist with deep cleaning projects and hands-on housekeeping as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in environmental services or hospitality preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of housekeeping leadership experience, ideally in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or related environments.
- Strong supervisory and team-building skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and infection-control protocols.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassion and respect for older adults and their living environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
