Position Summary
The Lawn Care Crew Leader is responsible for leading a two-person (or larger) crew to deliver high-quality mowing, trimming, blowing, and seasonal lawn care services. This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company quality standards. The Crew Leader oversees daily job execution, equipment readiness, crew training, and operates company trucks and trailers to transport crews and equipment to job sites.
Service Delivery
- Learn, follow, and enforce all company standards, procedures, and client-specific requirements.
- Safely and properly operate lawn care equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and related tools.
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Oversee the safety and operation of lawn care equipment by Crew Members and immediately report hazards, incidents, or damaged equipment to a supervisor.
- Perform and oversee quality mowing, edging, trimming, and blowing services to company standards.
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Maintain strong attention to detail so each property appears clean, professional, and complete.
- Represent the company professionally on job sites, while driving, and while on the clock.
- Adapt to changing schedules, weather conditions, and shifting priorities while maintaining efficiency and professionalism.
- Track route start and stop times for hourly jobs.
- Perform site completion checks and document site issues.
- Document completed routes and job details accurately.
Communication
- Report hazards, incidents, property damage, or equipment issues promptly to Operations Manager.
- Communicate clearly and positively with crew members to support efficient daily operations.
- Assist the Operations Manager with distributing daily weather and route updates to crews.
- Track and report material usage, including dump loads, tire tubes, two stroke, etc as required.
- Communicate service completion, field notes, and route issues clearly and promptly.
Customer Service
- Maintain positive client relationships through professional appearance, courteous interactions, and clean job sites.
- Direct client questions to appropriate staff.
- Assist with handling customer concerns, requests, and service follow-ups.
- Review and help resolve customer feedback and field notes in coordination with the Lawn Care Operations Manager.
Team Management
- Participate in morning huddles and end-of-week debriefs with the Operations Manager.
- Lead, train, and support crew members to meet daily schedules and quality standards.
- Promote and model a positive, safety-focused team environment.
- Communicate crew concerns, performance issues, or training needs to the Operations Manager.
- Respond to in-field crew questions and issues as the subject matter expert (SME).
- Support Operations Manager with route efficiency improvements.
Maintenance
- Perform daily equipment checks on mowers, trucks, trailers, and handheld tools.
- Oversee blade sharpening, mower cleaning, and routine upkeep.
- Assist with shop organization and equipment cleaning.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks, light repairs and quick fixes (filters, greasing, tire pressure) as directed by Operations Manager.
- Maintain clean, organized trucks and trailers free of debris and trash.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; must be 21 years or older to operate a company vehicle.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of lawn care or landscape maintenance experience required.
- Prior crew leadership or supervisory experience required.
- Ability to safely and effectively operate commercial mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and reliability.
- Physically able to perform outdoor labor in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs or more.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
