Position Summary
The Junior Irrigation Technician supports the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems for residential and commercial properties. This entry-level role focuses on developing technical skills through hands-on fieldwork and guidance from senior technicians. The Junior Irrigation Technician helps ensure irrigation systems operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards while maintaining professional job sites and positive customer relationships.
Service Delivery
- Learn and follow all company standards, procedures, and client-specific requirements.
- Safely and properly operate irrigation tools and equipment.
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist Senior Irrigation Technicians with troubleshooting and repairing faulty or broken irrigation systems.
- Support and assist with scheduled irrigation installations as needed.
- Support seasonal irrigation maintenance services, including startups, maintenance, and blowouts.
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Maintain strong attention to detail so each property appears clean, professional, and complete.
- Represent the company professionally on job sites, while driving, and while on the clock.
- Adapt to changing schedules, weather conditions, and shifting priorities while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Follow direction from the SR Technician to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
- Assist the SR Technician with tracking route start and stop times for hourly jobs.
- Assist with site completion checks and documentation of site issues.
- Assist with recording completed routes and job details as required.
Communication
- Report hazards, incidents, property damage, or equipment issues promptly to Operations Manager.
- Communicate clearly and positively with crew members to support efficient daily operations.
Customer Service
- Maintain positive client relationships through professional appearance, courteous interactions, and clean job sites.
- Direct client questions to appropriate staff.
Team Management
- Participate in morning huddles and end-of-week debriefs with the Operations Manager.
- Communicate and work cooperatively with crew members to meet daily schedules and company standards.
- Promote and model a positive team environment.
- Communicate concerns or issues to the SR Technician or Operations Manager as appropriate.
- Learn irrigation principles, company policies, and best practices from Senior Technicians.
- Develop troubleshooting, repair, and installation skills with the goal of advancing to Senior Irrigation Technician.
Maintenance
- Maintain clean, organized trucks and trailers free of debris and trash.
- Assist Sr Technician in making sure tools, materials, and equipment are secured and ready for daily operations.
- Assist with reporting material and equipment needs to the Operations Manager or Senior Technician.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred; must be 21 years or older to operate a company vehicle.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical systems.
- Previous irrigation experience preferred but not required; training provided.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and coworkers.
- Physically able to perform outdoor labor in various weather conditions for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs or more.

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
