Position Summary
The Law Offices of Maximilian A. Stovall seeks a dependable and professional receptionist for its Minden office.
This is a quiet front-desk position in a small law office. Walk-in traffic is generally limited, and the daily workload is ordinarily light. The receptionist’s primary responsibility is to provide reliable coverage of the office during regular business hours and ensure that telephone calls, visitors, and incoming documents receive prompt and professional attention.
This position does not involve substantive legal work, case management, billing, or providing legal advice.
Responsibilities
- Open and maintain the front office during scheduled business hours.
- Answer incoming telephone calls professionally and route calls or take accurate messages.
- Greet walk-in visitors and obtain their names, contact information, and a general description of why they came to the office.
- Notify the appropriate attorney, paralegal, or staff member of telephone calls and visitors.
- Receive documents from clients and other visitors.
- Scan documents clearly and email them promptly to the appropriate staff member.
- Monitor and respond to the receptionist email account.
- Make short trips to the nearby courthouse to retrieve documents.
- Scan and email courthouse documents to the appropriate paralegal or attorney.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and professional reception area.
- Perform occasional basic copying, mailing, and document-handling tasks.
- Protect confidential client and law-office information.
- Perform other limited front-office tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Professional appearance and courteous manner.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Ability to answer telephones, use email, and operate a scanner and copier.
- Ability to take accurate messages and follow straightforward instructions.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior receptionist or customer-service experience is preferred but not required.
