The Law Offices of G. James Martinez represents injured individuals and their families across Texas. We are seeking a confident, energetic and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our legal team. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case development across multiple practice areas
- Draft and review legal documents including contracts, motions, pleadings, and memoranda with clarity and accuracy
- Prepare for trial by organizing evidence, developing case strategies, and assisting with trial preparation activities
- Participate in court depositions, hearings, and client meetings to gather information and advocate effectively on behalf of clients
- Manage legal cases efficiently through case management software while maintaining meticulous records of case progress
- Negotiate settlements and legal terms with opposing counsel to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding case status, legal options, and procedural updates to ensure transparency and trust
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active State of Texas bar admission
- Proven experience in personal injury litigation is highly desirable
- Strong research skills utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms to gather statutory and procedural information
- Excellent legal writing skills for drafting pleadings, motions, contracts, and client correspondence
- Demonstrated ability to prepare for court depositions and trial proceedings effectively
- Knowledge of procedural law and familiarity with litigation processes in Texas
- Exceptional client communication skills with a focus on clarity and professionalism
- Experience in legal case management systems along with administrative experience in a law office setting is preferred
- Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines
