Overview
The Law Office of W. Adam Izell, PLLC is seeking an experienced Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join our team! Applicants must have at least one (1) year of prior paralegal or legal assistant experience. We are looking for a dedicated professional to assist in criminal defense matters in State and Federal Courts in both Tennessee and Georgia. Applicants should have experience working in a law firm, clerk’s office, or similar setting. While experience in criminal proceedings is preferred, it is not required. All candidates possessing the required experience are encouraged to apply.

Duties
- Assist in preparation of legal documents including written discovery, motions, briefs, and other pleadings.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases.
- Organize and maintain case files and documents using document management systems.
- Prepare and proofread legal correspondence and ensure accurate delivery.
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal proceedings.
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness lists.
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
- Part-time position, option to transition to full-time based on performance and skill level.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred, but experience can be substituted for formal degree on case-by-case basis.
- Experience working in criminal defense matters is strongly preferred. Experience with litigation is required.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

- Proficient in conducting legal research and using online legal databases.
- Attention to detail and strong proofreading skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Knowledge of litigation procedures and court filing requirements.
- Proficient in data entry and maintaining accurate records.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
