Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. This role is essential in supporting the attorney with administrative operations, case management, client intake, and documentation processes.
Duties
- Manage case administration, including preparation of correspondence, discovery, and pleadings.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
- Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents.
- Coordinate new client intakes, including gathering initial information, opening files, and maintaining accurate client records.
- Maintain and manage attorney calendars, including scheduling hearings, depositions, meetings, and deadlines.
- Track case timelines and ensure all deadlines are met efficiently.
- Organize, file, scan, and maintain both electronic and physical case documents.
- Maintain accurate records of case files and client communications.
- Provide administrative support including scheduling appointments, calendaring, and transcribing dictated correspondence and other case-related materials.
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information and documentation for cases.
- Assist with document management and coordination across multiple cases.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role within a law firm is preferred.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
- Excellent research skills to effectively gather information from various sources.
- Proficiency in administrative tasks including document management, calendaring, and project coordination.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Attention to detail with strong proofreading abilities to ensure accuracy in all documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also managing individual responsibilities effectively.
