Job Summary
As a part-time Guest Experience Associate at Lauritzen Gardens, you will play a vital role in creating a memorable and meaningful experience for all visitors. Through exceptional customer service, event support, and strong commitment to hospitality, you will help foster a welcoming environment that reflects the garden's mission of education, conservation, and community engagement.
Job Duties
Greet and welcome visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide information about Lauritzen Gardens, exhibits, events, and attractions.
Answer visitor inquiries and address concerns promptly and courteously.
Assist visitors with wayfinding and navigation throughout the gardens.
Process admissions, sales, and memberships using the point-of-sale system.
Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and responsibly.
Promote and sell merchandise and memberships.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the visitor center.
Restock and arrange merchandise displays.
Open and close the visitor center as scheduled.
Assist with crowd control and queue management during busy periods or events.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED (required)
Customer service skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
Cash handling: Experience with point-of-sale systems and financial transactions.
Organizational skills: Ability to maintain an orderly and welcoming workspace.
Knowledge: Familiarity with Lauritzen Gardens, its exhibits, and attractions is a plus.
Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry moderate loads, and work in various weather conditions.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
