The Role:
The Junior Designer is an emerging professional at our firm. Working closely with the associates and senior designers, this role helps bring our clients’ design visions to life by assisting with selections, drawings, meeting notes, and project tasks. You will meet quarterly with your Project Lead & annually with the Leadership Team to review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Task oriented role to assist the design team with selections, drawings, presentations, pricing, and meeting preparation.
- Goal: to grow your knowledge & design process.
- Responsible for meeting preparation – both internal and client meetings to include printing, room and computer set up, and saving all files to record sets
- During internal reviews and project kick-off or site visits, responsible for taking notes, transcribing, and uploading to necessary digital platforms.
- Under direction of your Project Lead, assist with design selections for the following:
- Finish materials and equipment and fixture selections
- Under direction of Project Lead, assist with client presentation documents.
- Under direction of Project Lead, produce and document residential design drawings:
- Floor plans, interior elevations, and electrical plans
- Under direction of Project Lead, collaborate with vendors and consultants as needed
- Visit local vendors to pick up and drop of samples
- Assist in the production of finish schedules
- Attend site meetings and provide meeting notes for site visits
To Be Successful You Are:
- Degreed and Experienced:
- BA, BFA, or BS in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited program
- 1 years of residential design experience
- Able to hand draft and sketch
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Tech Minded:
- Revit, Sketchup, and 3D rendering a plus
- Microsoft Office:
- Word: Proficient
- Excel: Proficient
- PowerPoint: Proficient
- Outlook: Proficient
- An excellent communicator, both written and verbal
- Able to comfortably interact with High Net Worth clients
- Exceptional with maintaining a balanced workflow, while meeting deadlines: you are a highly organized, self-motivated problem solver
