Job Summary:
The Federal Protective Service (FPS), Financial and Programming Management Directorate (FPMD) has a need to acquire specialized expertise to directly support FPMD with data integrity & analysis, financial reporting & analysis, other business operations activities considered mission critical.
Location: Hybrid; partially on-site at TSA Headquarters 6595 Springfield Center Dr, Springfield, VA 22150
Base Salary: $80,000 - $100,000/Annually
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Develop, advise on, and/or implement major policy and system changes affecting accounting programs.
- Analyzes and interprets accounting data and reports and performs financial analyses, forecasts, and evaluations.
- Provide expert advice to program managers and senior executive officials.
- Review and interpret new legislation, regulations, directives, and guidelines affecting assigned programs.
- Review and provide advice on the accuracy of data produced by accounting systems and service provider and assists with the reconciliation of system outputs to other accounting systems and subsystems.
- Provide advice on planning and implementation of internal controls to ensure integrity and the accuracy and completeness of the financial.
- Manage the Travel Program Email Inbox
- Support the Travel Team Lead with resolving travel related issues for FPS employees
- A minimum of five years of experience in statistical analysis, statistical modeling, or related statistical work with demonstrated experience in manipulating and analyzing data using an analytics programming language such as R, Python, and/or SAS.
- A minimum education requirement of a Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 or higher to include expertise in Excel and Access required.
- Ability to work effectively with a group or independently.
- Ability to effectively manage several complex projects simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to conduct detailed research and analysis of technical data and then present the results of the research in an easily understandable manner.
- Ability to analyze business problems and then discern the appropriate statistical/analytical techniques to apply to address the problem.
