Heavy-Duty Fleet Diesel MechanicLocation: St Louis, MOSchedule: Monday–Friday, 2nd shift (on-call during snow events as needed)Compensation: $28.84–$32.36 per hour, based on experienceA day on our second shiftYou clock in for the afternoon and line up the fleet: a dump truck due for PM, an aerial truck with a suspension concern, and a street sweeper flashing a fault code. You move equipment in and out of the bay, run diagnostics, weld what needs reinforcing, and keep meticulous notes so invoicing and billing are accurate. Throughout, you work safely and by the book—company, local, state, and federal standards—so the fleet is reliable when the city needs it most.What you’ll work onComprehensive maintenance on medium/heavy-duty trucks, including welding and repair.Preventive maintenance with a focus on electrical, suspension, and air brake systems.Diagnostics and troubleshooting across the fleet to keep uptime high.Hands-on service for dump trucks, aerial units, street sweepers, and similar equipment.Driving diesel units in/out of the shop and within the facility as needed.Safe work practices aligned with company policies and applicable regulations.Clear English communication (read/write/speak) to meet safety requirements, follow product specifications to prevent contamination, and complete paperwork for invoicing and billing.Other operational tasks as needed to support the shop.What you bringHigh School Diploma or GED plus 3 years of diesel mechanic experience.Must have own tools and steel-toe boots.Valid Driver's License.Comfort lifting up to 50 lbs and regularly bending, climbing, and stooping.Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.Pay, perks, and growthBase pay: $28.84–$32.36 per hour, DOE.Full-time employees can enroll in medical and ancillary benefit plans to fit individual and family needs.401(k) with company match.Join the LAUNCH Loyalty Club on day one to earn extra cash bonuses, apparel, and safety rewards.Ask about eligibility for travel expense reimbursement, bonuses, and fixed-rate incentive opportunities.
