Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Youth and Children’s Director to lead and inspire our youth and children’s ministry programs. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement dynamic programs tailored to children and youth that promote spiritual growth, social skills, and community involvement.
- Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of volunteers and staff dedicated to youth ministry efforts.
- Organize special events such as retreats, camps, holiday celebrations, and outreach activities that engage young participants.
- Provide mentorship, Christian counseling, and emotional support to children and teenagers facing various life challenges.
- Coordinate with parents, teachers, and church leaders to ensure programs align with overall ministry goals.
- Facilitate training sessions for volunteers on topics like social work principles, child safety protocols, and effective communication techniques.
- Oversee fundraising initiatives to support youth programs and ensure resources are available for impactful activities.
- Manage outreach efforts to connect with the broader community through service projects, social events, and partnerships with local organizations.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children and adolescents in educational or faith-based settings.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing teams or volunteer groups within a church or community organization.
- Strong background in teaching, mentoring, or social work with an emphasis on youth development.
- Knowledge of bereavement support services and hospice care as they relate to supporting grieving children or families.
- Experience planning events that foster community engagement while ensuring safety and inclusivity.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with diverse age groups and backgrounds.
- Familiarity with Christian counseling principles is preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided for the right candidate.
