Position Overview
The Accounting & Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing accounts payable, managing bi-weekly payroll, administering employee benefits, and general accounting support. This role is ideal for someone with excellent attention to detail, accounting fundamentals, and the ability to work independently in a flexible, part-time schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable:
- Review, code, and process vendor and contractor invoices.
- Maintain accurate vendor records and ensure timely payments.
- Reconcile credit card transactions and monthly statements.
Payroll Processing:
- Prepare and process payroll (via ADP) for all employees.
- Coordinate with management to ensure accurate time tracking and pay adjustments.
- Record all payroll-related journal entries.
Benefits Administration:
- Manage employee enrollments, terminations, and changes in health, dental, and other benefits.
- Serve as the point of contact for benefit-related questions.
- Assist with annual open enrollment and coordinate with benefit providers.
General Accounting Support:
- Record monthly payments and accrual journal entries.
- Reconcile bank accounts monthly.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll administration.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets, ADP (or similar payroll
systems), and general accounting software.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Discretion with sensitive financial and employee information.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Schedule & Compensation
- Hours: 10–15 hours per week (flexible schedule)
- Compensation: Commensurate with experience
