In-House Energy Commercial Contracts Counsel (Engagement)
(On-Site – Austin, TX or Washington, D.C. | Full-Time or Part-Time Engagement)
Latitude is seeking an In-House Energy Commercial Contracts Counsel to support a high-volume commercial contracting function for a growing energy company. This attorney will handle a steady flow of commercial agreements and negotiations and must be able to operate with minimal supervision.
This role is well-suited for a lawyer who thrives in fast-paced environments and can independently manage large volumes of commercial contracts without extensive training or oversight.
Client is very open to considering engagement-to-hire or direct/permanent placement for the ideal candidate.
Basic Requirements For The In-House Energy Commercial Contracts Counsel:
Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $200,000 to $250,000 or more when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).

- 3 years legal practice experience with a strong focus on commercial contracting
- Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a high volume of commercial agreements
- Prior in-house experience and/or Big Law commercial transactions experience preferred
- Ability to manage contracts independently with limited supervision
- Progressive responsibility in prior roles (in-house and/or private practice)
- Experience in the energy, infrastructure, or regulated industries is a plus; nuclear experience helpful but not required
- Excellent academic credentials from an ABA-accredited law school
- Excellent analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Outstanding professional references
