Latitude Legal is partnering with a highly respected boutique law firm in the Seattle area to identify an exceptional Estate Planning and Probate Paralegal who is ready to make an immediate and meaningful impact. Remote acceptable, though flexibility to work on a hybrid basis at the firm’s Seattle office is highly desirable (especially to be considered for conversion to a permanent position).
Key Responsibilities
Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $70,000-$110,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).
Benefits: In addition to pay, all Latitude Attorneys and other legal professionals working on contract engagements receive complimentary professional liability insurance coverage. All Latitude employees (including those on contract engagements) are also eligible for full benefits when working 20 hours per week, including group medical, dental, and vision insurance, and complimentary group life, LTD and AD&D insurance. A qualified 401k plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.

Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and assemble estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives
- Prepare substantive client correspondence, including transmittal and advisory letters
- Prepare probate pleadings and supporting documentation, and file with King County and surrounding jurisdictions in compliance with court requirements
- Support probate and trust administration matters from intake through closing, including court filings, notices to heirs and creditors, asset inventories, and final distributions
- Manage and maintain client files, calendar deadlines, and track statutory requirements to ensure ongoing compliance
- Utilize law firm technology platforms, including document management systems, calendaring tools, and court e-filing systems
- Leverage estate planning drafting software (experience strongly preferred) to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
- Assist attorneys with case strategy, document management, and overall matter organization
- Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters in a law firm environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of Washington probate procedures and court filing requirements, particularly King County
- Proven ability to draft estate planning documents and substantive client correspondence with minimal supervision
- Strong proficiency with law firm technology platforms, including document management systems, calendaring tools, and court e-filing portals
- Experience using estate planning drafting software is a plus
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple active matters and competing deadlines
- Client-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a boutique firm environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Type of role: Engagement role (Temp to Perm). Can be converted to permanent role for the right candidate based on performance and firm needs.
