California Litigation Attorney (Remote)

Latitude Legal
Nashville, TN Remote Full Time
POSTED ON 6/6/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 7/28/2026

Latitude Legal is seeking a California-licensed Civil Litigation Attorney to support a boutique business litigation firm on a part-time, engagement (contract) basis. This is a flexible, ongoing engagement anticipated to run approximately 20–30 hours per week, with natural ebb and flow based on caseload demands. The role is fully remote, though candidates should be available during standard California business hours.

This is a strong fit for a well-rounded California litigator who is comfortable handling matters across the full litigation lifecycle and can step in with minimal ramp-up. The firm handles a range of business-related disputes, including breach of contract, commercial real estate, shareholder matters, employment-related claims, and related business litigation, and is looking for someone who can contribute across matter types rather than within a single practice area niche.

What You'll Do Includes:

  • Support active litigation matters from early case development through resolution, with responsibilities calibrated to matter stage and attorney need
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, demand letters, and correspondence
  • Manage written discovery (propounding, responding, and following up) and assist with document review and production
  • Conduct legal research and draft supporting analyses, memos, and briefs
  • Assist with deposition preparation, hearing prep, and case strategy as engagements develop
  • Maintain organized files and communicate proactively on matter status in a remote working environment

Who You Are:

  • California-licensed attorney with 3 years of civil litigation experience in California state court
  • Comfortable working across the full litigation lifecycle; not limited to any single phase, matter type, or practice area
  • Strong legal researcher and writer; able to produce polished work product with limited supervision
  • Organized, responsive, and well-suited to the pace and flexibility of part-time, engagement-based work
  • Available approximately 20–30 hours per week with the ability to flex based on caseload demands
  • Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Outstanding references

Position Details:

  • Type of Role: Engagement
  • Schedule: Part-Time
  • Location: Remote (anywhere in United States)

Compensation:

  • Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $170,000 - $200,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).
  • Benefits: In addition to salary, Latitude Engaged Professionals are W2 employees of Latitude and are eligible for full benefits when working in roles for 20 hours per week, including a Qualified 401k plan. Benefits-eligible Latitude employees receive complimentary Group Life, LTD and AD&D and professional liability insurance. Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
