Machine Operator - Grinder (Second Shift)

We are looking for a Machine Operator - Grinderto join our 100% EMPLOYEE-OWNED team.

Shift: Monday - Thursday (2pm - 12:30am)

Position Summary

Produce customer parts and products in accordance with the established safety, quality, and cost standards of the company. Grind and finish parts in conformance with specifications and meet daily required production assignments. Responsible for producing quality workmanship, which meets or exceeds requirements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Timely completion of job functions. Adhere to ISO-9001 quality systems.

• Grind and finish parts in conformance with specifications and meet daily required production assignments.
• Be familiar with the customer's cosmetic standard and apply this standard when visually inspecting all production parts and components.
• Operate Hand Tools, Stroke Sanders, Kuhlmeyer, and Bead Blasting equipment.
• Proficient in one to two finishing procedures while continuing training in the other finishing procedures.
• Understand the Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.
• Ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
• Follow company safety procedures, work safely and ensure hazardous conditions are eliminated.
• Complete tasks independently from job-list.
• Follow and execute ISO Quality system procedures including instructions on job travelers and control plan per ISO procedures.
• Accurately maintain MES system as instructed.
• Familiarity with the Dirt Estimation Chart.
• Audit of materials and/or production parts before delivery to next operation area.
• Maintain neat and clean work area.
• Assist in monthly inventory process.
• Arrive to work in a punctual manner and be willing to work overtime when needed.
• Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Possess basic math and reading skills including ability to read and use tape measure and caliper.

* Ability to visually inspect parts.

Minimum Job Requirements

* High school diploma or equivalent or 1-3 years of experience in similar function.

* Physical- capable of lifting 40 lbs. safely or with assistance. Capability of standing and bending over for long periods of time while performing manual labor with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Working Hours- fulltime
• Personal Traits- Good communication skills with positive teamwork attitude. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to follow direction and or work independently, able to multi-task and trouble shoot. Punctual and safe work habits.
• Forklift license optional - but a plus
