Teacher’s Aide
Support Students as They Build Skills for Work and Independence
Latham Centers is looking for a compassionate and motivated Teacher’s Aide to join our Vocational Program in Brewster, MA. In this role, you will work alongside educators and vocational staff to support students ages 14 as they explore career interests, develop workplace skills, and participate in hands-on employment opportunities.
This position provides direct support and mentorship to students both in classroom settings and at community job sites. Teacher’s Aides play an important role in helping students practice job readiness skills, gain confidence, and build independence as they prepare for future employment.

Location: Brewster, MA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay: $20.00–$21.50 per hour (based on experience)
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers and vocational staff in supporting students during vocational training activities
- Help students identify strengths and interests related to employment and career exploration
- Provide hands-on support to students participating in on-campus and community-based work experiences
- Reinforce workplace expectations including communication, punctuality, teamwork, and task completion
- Monitor student progress and help track vocational skill development tied to individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Encourage independence while offering guidance and positive role modeling
- Support implementation of individualized behavior and support plans
- Maintain strong communication with teachers, supervisors, and program staff regarding student progress
- Participate in required trainings and follow all safety and crisis intervention procedures when necessary
- Assist in maintaining a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to support students during behavioral escalations when needed to ensure safety
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Interest in working with students with special needs and supporting their growth toward independence
