Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Direct Support Professional serving adults with special needs. Located in Barnstable County, MA, the position involves supporting residents in their daily activities, promoting independence and personal growth. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living tasks, implementing individual care plans, providing emotional and practical support, and creating a safe, nurturing environment. Additional responsibilities include fostering community engagement and helping individuals achieve their personal goals.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in Human Services and working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities
- Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities
- Experience with or willingness to engage in Training related to supporting individuals with special needs
- Ability to work collaboratively and foster a positive, supportive environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in a related field is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Prior experience in direct care roles is strongly preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification is beneficial but not mandatory
