Are you an experienced dental front office professional looking to bring your skills to a fast-paced, patient-focused practice? Lasting Smiles Dental Care is seeking a knowledgeable and organized individual to join our team as a Dental Front Office Coordinator at our Pasadena location.

Position: Dental Front Office Coordinator

Responsibilities:

• Greet patients with professionalism and warmth, ensuring an exceptional front-office experience.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring optimal productivity and minimal downtime.
• Verify dental insurance benefits and accurately enter insurance information into the system.
• Collect co-pays and other patient financial responsibilities at the time of service.
• Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely care.
• Manage patient records and update charts in our dental practice management software.
• Answer inbound phone calls and respond to voicemails and emails in a timely and professional manner.
• Provide patients with clear explanations of treatment plans and financial arrangements.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a dental front office setting is required – we are not hiring entry-level candidates for this role.
• Thorough knowledge of dental insurance plans (PPO, HMO, fee-for-service, etc.) and how to verify eligibility and breakdowns.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-first approach.
• Professional and polished phone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a busy environment.
• Strong computer skills, including dental practice software and Microsoft Office.
• Experience handling patient billing, insurance claims, and pre-authorizations is preferred.

Qualifications:

• Experience with Open Dental software preferred.
• Solid understanding of dental terminology and treatment coding.
• Ability to explain insurance estimates and patient co-pays clearly and confidently.
• Proven track record of reliability, punctuality, and a positive team attitude.

A Standard Day as a Dental Front Office Coordinator at Lasting Smiles:

• Start the day with a morning huddle to align with your clinical and front office team.
• Welcome and check-in patients, review insurance and collect payment.
• Confirm future appointments and verify upcoming insurance eligibility.
• Answer phones, schedule treatment, and field patient inquiries efficiently and professionally.
• End the day by reviewing and finalizing claims, prepping for the next day’s schedule, and ensuring the front office runs smoothly.

Compensation:

The anticipated hourly rate for this position depends on the applicant’s experience and will range between $20 - $30 per hour, with potential for performance-based bonuses. Actual compensation will depend on experience and qualifications.
