Position Summary
The Mechanic III reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is based out of our Hendersonville, North Carolina location. This position is responsible for the advanced maintenance, servicing, and repair of plant and production equipment in a juice and beverage manufacturing environment. This includes conducting PMs, troubleshooting, repairing mechanical and electrical systems, and ensuring optimal plant performance. The role also requires steamer certification and experience within juice/beverage manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities Include
- Maintain and service mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems in plant and production equipment.
- Utilize hand and power tools as necessary to perform tasks.
- Perform complex repairs and maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
- Conduct periodic equipment inspections as part of Preventative Maintenance (PM) performance, troubleshoot, and evaluate repair requests.
- Identify parts required for repairs, maintain inventory levels, and place orders as necessary.
- Monitor the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment to ensure optimal usage, efficiency, and quality.
- Ensure all work adheres to company and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate and schedule installation and service support operations.
- Complete tasks in accordance with established safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and confined space entry protocols.
- Maintain detailed records, including work orders, inspection reports, equipment manuals, and time logs.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Actively report potential or actual food safety or quality issues to management.
- Comply with all Safety, Quality, and Food (SQF) requirements and work with supervision to resolve any food safety or quality concerns within the scope of the role.
- Perform additional duties as required and assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of Industrial/Manufacturing mechanic experience, with at least 2 years in a juice or beverage manufacturing environment.
- An associates degree or equivalent.
- Advanced knowledge in Mechanical, Pneumatic, and Electrical systems (120VAC-480VAC).
- Steamer certification required (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe).
- High level of detail orientation, ability to multitask, and prioritize work effectively.
- Excellent time management, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Experience specifically within the juice or beverage industry is highly preferred.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing or production environment is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Previous experience with high-speed production lines, especially in the beverage or food industry, is an asset.
This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production environment.
Frequent
- Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in the area of responsibility.
- Exposure to wet and humid conditions, fluctuating ambient temperatures, and occasional loud environments due to machinery and production equipment.
- Squatting, kneeling, and reaching above or at shoulder height.
- Ability to wear a dust mask and perform confined space entry using LOTO procedures.
- Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals used in production processes.
- Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision, with or without correction.
- Must be able to visually detect obstacles and potential hazards in a high-speed production environment involving industrial equipment and powered lift systems.
- Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
- Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines, and exhaust fans.
