Job Description:
Laser Mechanisms, a world leader in laser processing devices, has an opening for a field service/laser lab technician. This is a dual function role where your time will be split between customer support role and working in a state of the art laser lab. If you are a technically minded individual that is looking for a diverse work environment this could be a great opportunity for you. The primary role is to act as a customer support technician where you will be interacting with the customer to help troubleshoot and solve customer related problems. This will require the individual to travel to customers' sites. The secondary role is to work in our laser lab to conduct experiments for the engineering department and develop laser applications.
Candidates must have a strong background in electronics, industrial controls and have a strong mechanical aptitude. The candidate will interact directly with customers and must be able to present themselves in a professional manner. They must be confident in their abilities and be able to think on their feet.

Essential Skills:
- Strong background in electronics
- Ability to interpret, understand and implement mechanical and electrical drawings
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communications skills.
- Ability to travel throughout the US and on rare occasion internationally
- Travel will be up to 40% of the time (mostly in the midwest.)
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of industrial controls and integration
- Must be team orientated but able to work independently.
- Computer proficient using Microsoft Office
- Valid driver license and clean driving record
- Ability to perform frequent lifting and other manual work
Education/Experience: Preferred an associates degree in a technical field.
Ideally, the candidate will have related working experience in field service activities (preferably with lasers) but not required (Recent graduates with strong aptitude will be considered.) Experience with optics and industrial lasers is strongly desired.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 50 per week
