Denials Management Specialist

Compensation: $25–$28 per hour, depending on experience, skill set and contract terms

This fully on-site opportunity is ideal for a revenue cycle professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and knows how to turn denials into dollars. If you’re experienced in medical necessity appeals, comfortable navigating payer policies and confident writing strong appeal letters, this Appeals & Denials Specialist role offers immediate impact and steady workload.

In this role, the Appeals & Denials Specialist will partner closely with the insurance follow-up team to resolve payer denials efficiently and accurately. You’ll focus heavily on clinical denials, leverage Epic daily and manage a consistent volume of appeals across government and commercial payers. This opportunity is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical and comfortable meeting productivity expectations.

What’s the job?

• Prepare, write and submit appeals and reconsiderations for denied claims
• Review denial reasons and payer policies to determine the best appeal strategy
• Handle clinical and medical necessity denials across Medicaid, Medicare and commercial payers
• Collaborate closely with the insurance follow-up team to drive denial resolution
• Meet daily productivity goals
• Utilize Epic to review accounts, documentation and claim status
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely appeal submissions
  
  

What’s needed?

• 3 years of experience working denials and appeals in a healthcare setting
• Proven experience writing appeal letters, including clinical and non-clinical appeals
• Strong knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare and commercial payer denial processes
• Epic experience is required
• Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
