Aerospace Logistics Specialist

LaSalle Network is partnering with a leading logistics organization to hire an Aerospace Logistics Specialist to support the coordination and execution of aircraft parts and engine shipments. This role will manage shipments from origin to destination, coordinate domestic and international freight movements, make routing decisions, and provide high-level customer service throughout the shipment lifecycle. The ideal candidate has strong freight forwarding experience, understands international logistics, and can confidently manage time-sensitive shipments in a fast-paced environment.

What's the job?

• Coordinate domestic and international transportation of aircraft parts, engines, and other time-sensitive shipments
• Manage shipments from origin through final destination while maintaining visibility throughout the entire transportation process
• Evaluate shipment requirements and determine appropriate routing and transportation solutions
• Coordinate with carriers, stations, customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful shipment execution
• Manage import and export shipments and ensure required documentation and information are accurate
• Provide shipment quotes and support transportation planning based on customer requirements
• Track shipments, monitor milestones, and proactively address delays or exceptions
• Maintain accurate shipment information, tracking spreadsheets, and operational records
• Utilize CargoWise to manage shipment workflows and maintain accurate transportation data
• Communicate proactively with customers regarding shipment status, changes, delays, and delivery expectations
• Coordinate handoffs between internal teams, stations, and service providers while maintaining ownership of the overall shipment
• Follow established SOPs and operational procedures to ensure consistent service quality
• Partner with internal compliance resources regarding shipment requirements, declared value, dangerous goods, and other specialized logistics considerations
• Support a high level of customer service throughout the complete shipment lifecycle
• Participate in an operation that is developing toward 24/7/365 service coverage
  
  

What's needed?

• 3 years of international freight forwarding operations experience
• Strong understanding of end-to-end freight forwarding and shipment execution
• Experience coordinating domestic and international transportation
• Working knowledge of import and export processes and documentation
• Experience handling aerospace, aircraft parts, engines, or other time-sensitive logistics is strongly preferred
• CargoWise experience required
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to make practical routing and transportation decisions based on shipment requirements
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously
• Ability to troubleshoot shipment issues and proactively communicate solutions
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with shipment documentation and milestones
• IATA knowledge or certification strongly preferred
• Ability to work outside of traditional business hours as required by operational needs
• DOD experience is not required
