What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Counsel - Private Credit position at Larson Maddox?
We are partnering with a rapidly growing private credit platform focused on complex asset-based financings. This firm has experienced tremendous growth and they are seeking to add a Senior Counsel to their Legal team as an expansion hire. You'll report directly to the General Counsel and work side‑by‑side with senior investment professionals on some of the firm's most important transactions. They have a very flexible hybrid schedule and a great culture that has led to strong retention rates across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of private credit and asset based financings including related documentation such as term sheets, credit agreements, and other ancillary contracts
- Partner closely with senior investment leadership to structure and execute credit transactions
- Coordinate across internal stakeholders, including compliance, regulatory, and operational functions, to ensure seamless execution
- Manage transaction closings and oversee outside counsel
- Monitor evolving legal, regulatory, and market developments impacting private credit and asset‑backed finance
Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience at a top law firm or in an in-house setting handling lending transactions, ideally with strong private credit and asset-based financing experience
- Exposure to real assets or structured collateral is a plus
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- A collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset
