A reputable motor vehicle manufacturer is seeking a Contracts Counsel to join their team. This role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies, and mitigating legal risks.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including supplier agreements, distribution agreements, licensing agreements, service contracts, and NDAs.
- Advise internal stakeholders on contractual rights, obligations, and risks, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Manage contract lifecycle, including execution, amendments, renewals, and terminations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international laws, as well as industry regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with procurement, sales, engineering, and finance teams to support business operations and strategic initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks related to supply chain, intellectual property, warranties, and liability.
- Maintain contract templates and playbooks, implementing best practices for efficiency and consistency.
- Support dispute resolution and assist in litigation matters related to contractual issues when necessary.
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in Michigan
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in contracts or transactional law, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Strong background in commercial transactions and supply chain agreements.
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
