A Day in the Life – Dining Room Server

Every day, you play an important role in creating a welcoming, comfortable, and enjoyable dining experience for our residents and their guests. With a resident-first mindset and a heart for service, you will:

• Warmly greet residents and guests by name whenever possible, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere

• Ensure comfort, safety, and individual preferences are met during meal services. 

• Take food and beverage orders with care and accuracy, noting special requests and dietary needs

• Serve meals and beverages promptly and professionally, ensuring presentation, temperature, and dietary compliance meet community standards

• Anticipate needs throughout the meal by offering refills, checking in frequently, pre-bussing tables and providing attentive, personalized service

• Build positive relationships with residents through meaningful conversation and compassionate, respectful interactions

• Address questions, concerns, or special requests quickly and courteously, always prioritizing resident satisfaction

• Set the next shift up for success by setting tables, rolling silverware, stocking supplies, and maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment

• Support light food preparation tasks (such as beverage station or Expo setups)

• Collaborate closely with culinary and dining team members to ensure safe and smooth meal services following all HACCP guidelines; correct label and dating of products, using first in and first out rotations, proper handwashing and glove use to name a few. 

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards to protect the health and well-being of residents and yourself

• Contribute to a positive team culture by demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and a genuine passion for serving others

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English

• Prior customer service or hospitality experience preferred, but not required

• Physical exam showing freedom from communicable diseases required

• Friendly, dependable, and respectful demeanor
