You enjoy variety in your schedule and are comfortable supporting different areas of kitchen operations including cooking, prep work, and dish support when needed.
Schedule:
- Full-Time
- Flexible schedule including:
- 2 AM cook shifts
- 2 PM cook shifts
- 1 prep/dish support shift weekly
- Rotating weekends and holidays as needed
A Day in the Life:
- Prepare and cook meals for residents following standardized recipes and dietary requirements
- Support both AM and PM meal service operations within the Health Care Center
- Assist with food prep, dishwashing support, and kitchen organization as needed
- Ensure food safety and sanitation procedures are followed consistently
- Maintain cleanliness in all workstations and kitchen areas
- Assist with plating, garnishing, and presenting meals to meet Larksfield Place standards
- Follow established protocols to ensure meal consistency, portion control, and quality
- Communicate with dietary staff regarding resident preferences and feedback
- Support daily kitchen operations including prep, equipment checks, and inventory rotation
- Uphold standards for infection control, allergen awareness, and cross-contamination prevention
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of professional cooking experience in a restaurant line and/or healthcare setting
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and recipe compliance
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and cleanliness standards
- Ability to adapt to varying kitchen responsibilities and schedules
- Must be at least 18 years of age and pass a TB screening
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Kansas Food Handler’s Card required
- ServeSafe Certification preferred
