What are the responsibilities and job description for the Neurosurgery Physician Assistant position at Larkin Community Hospital?
Responsibilities:
- Provide Neurosurgery services under the supervision of Dr Jose Valerio
- Conduct physical examinations and medical histories
- Diagnose and treat brain and spine diagnosis’s
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as MRIs, CTs, X-rays and laboratory tests
- Prescribe medications and other treatments
- Assist in surgical procedures, including suturing and wound care
- Educate patients on preventive healthcare measures
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
Requirements:
- Valid Physician Assistant license in the state of practice
- Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or related field
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
- Experience working as a physician assistant or in a similar role preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
Skills:
- Familiarity with acute care settings, including clinic, emergent inpatient and outpatient settings
