At Larimer County Department of Human Services, we strive to be responsive, provide timely resources in partnership with our community so individuals and families are healthy, supported, and safe. We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic staff member to join our Benefits and Community Support Division as a Senior Administrative Specialist.
The Senior Administrative Specialist will help support a team of Administrative Specialists that staff a phone team for the main public benefits line for the department, and prepare applications and route documents to be worked and processed by the appropriate staff. This position is expected to provide back up, when needed, to support the volume of incoming work and be strategic about how to manage and balance the workload across the team. This position will work closely with the Administrative Supervisor to ensure integrity and accuracy of administrative staff answering client questions over the phone, and preparing and routing documents for processing.
This is a hybrid position that requires at least one day per week in the office. You must have adequate internet access and a dedicated remote workspace. Larimer County provides an annual remote work stipend to help with equipment and office supply needs.

Responsibilities
What you'll be doing:
- Interpreting County/departmental policies, rules, and regulations in response to inquiries.
- Exercising indirect supervision over assigned staff.
- Providing lead accountability for other employees within the work unit, which may include scheduling, assigning, and reviewing work, instructing/training in work methods, and providing input into hiring and performance evaluation processes.
- Entering data into and maintaining computer systems or databases; proofing data entry and correcting errors; running standard reports as required.
- Evaluating customer service, case documentation, and application initiation accuracy through quality assurance processes.
- Reviewing case documentation and actions.
- Acting as a resource or expert in a program area, providing technical guidance to less experienced staff.
- Providing excellent customer service to phone clients.

- Four (4) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar office administrative duties and responsibilities required.
