Job Summary – Piping Designer (Portland, OR)
- 15 years of piping design experience, with 10 years in a QA/checking leadership role
- Proficient in Navis; experience with CADWorx or Revit preferred
- Lead and participate in detailed model reviews and interdisciplinary design reviews
- Verify designs for compliance with national codes, standards, project bases, and material specs
- Conduct QA and checking activities to ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, and deliverables
- Develop and maintain Project QA and Design Verification Plans, collaborating with Global QA
- Review engineering documents (drawings, datasheets, specs, vendor packages, specialty piping data) for accuracy, fit, function, and compliance
- Evaluate piping/equipment layouts for constructability and installation efficiency
- Review and verify pipe support locations, spans, and stress compatibility
- Provide redlines, feedback, and correction guidance to designers/drafters to improve design quality
- Mentor, guide, and provide technical leadership to designers and checking staff
- Collaborate closely with project delivery teams, leads, engineering managers, and multidiscipline teams
- Support improvements to discipline workflows, tools, and standards
- Recognize potential scope changes; assist with schedule, budget, and staffing forecasts for QA
- Engage in internal, cross-discipline, and external quality reviews
