Job Summary (Mainframe Developer – Torrance, CA)
- Develop and support applications for large-scale projects in an IBM mainframe environment (COBOL, CICS, MQ, DB2, JCL).
- Provide production support, including researching and resolving mainframe online and batch abends.
- Analyze and improve batch processes for enhanced performance and reduced processing time.
- Conduct impact analysis across multiple platforms and applications.
- Deliver comprehensive documentation for project estimates, design, and development work.
- Participate in on-call support for production batch jobs during off-hours.
- Leverage experience or knowledge in auto finance, particularly in areas like lending, payment processing, collections, and repossession.
- Apply business knowledge of financial services and automotive lending processes.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders, demonstrating interpersonal skills aligned with Honda’s culture.
- Utilize familiarity with software testing practices, especially unit testing and related deliverables.
- Experience with FIS/Systematics platforms is a plus.
