Construction Estimator

Overview
We are hiring a high-performing Construction Estimator to scope, write, and manage estimates for water, fire, mold, and reconstruction projects.
This role is responsible for driving revenue, protecting margin, and keeping jobs moving. You will inspect losses, build accurate scopes, communicate with adjusters, and ensure all work performed is properly captured and paid.
This is not a desk-only role — you will be in the field and accountable for production-level output.
Responsibilities
- Inspect residential and commercial losses and build complete scopes of work
- Write detailed estimates in Xactimate
- Capture all billable work, including:
- Demo complexity
- Equipment and drying
- Content manipulation and labor
- Containment, protection, and specialty items
- Ensure files are properly documented with:
- Photos (pre/during/post)
- Moisture readings and job notes
- Communicate directly with adjusters to:
- Justify scope
- Handle revisions and supplements
- Secure approvals
- Identify and write supplements proactively
- Work closely with operations to ensure:
- Field execution matches scope
- Scope changes are captured in real time
- Maintain fast turnaround times and keep jobs moving
What You’re Accountable For
- Estimate turnaround time (24–72 hours depending on size)
- Accuracy and completeness of scope
- Supplement capture and total revenue written
- Supporting job profitability (no missed items)
- Moving jobs from inspection → approval → production
Requirements
- 2 years estimating in restoration or construction
- Strong proficiency in Xactimate
- Ability to scope mitigation and reconstruction work
- Solid understanding of building materials and jobsite conditions
- Comfortable working in the field and dealing directly with adjusters
Preferred
- Experience with large or complex losses
- Industry certifications (WRT, ASD, etc.)
- Strong documentation and negotiation skills
