The CDL Program Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, promotion, and delivery of the Professional Truck and Bus Driving programs, as well as related professional development courses, endorsement courses, and CDL preparation offerings. Working in collaboration with the Transportaion Training Center (TTC) Director, this position assists with course scheduling, provides instructional and logistical support to instructors, and participates in student recruitment and outreach activities to help ensure quality instruction and alignment with identified workforce needs.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate course scheduling for morning, evening, and weekend offerings to accommodate non-traditional students. Secure instructional facilities, arrange materials, and serve as the primary point of contact for instructors during scheduled courses.
- Collaborate with Director to ensure instructional quality, curriculum effectiveness, and alignment within the transportation industry.
- Assist Director with program curriculum, course materials, and instructional content as required by transportation industry standards and DPS guidelines.
- Recruit and advise prospective students interested in Professional Truck and Bus Driving program requirements and the enrollment process by conducting informational sessions, presentations, and outreach and marketing efforts.
- Coordinate with Director and department staff to ensure students meet eligibility requirements and are properly scheduled for CDL knowledge and skills exams.
- Assist Director with program budget management, required reporting, and grant compliance.
- Monitor CDL program enrollment and ensure deliverables are met in alignment with institutional goals, grant requirements, and workforce training commitments.
- Build and sustain employer and community partnerships by coordinating and participating in engagement and recruitment events, including job fairs, site visits, orientations, networking activities, and community outreach, to promote programs, strengthen partnerships, and connect students with workforce opportunities.
- Assist Director in the recruiting and interviewing of instructors.
- Assist program in the research of instructional materials, equipment, and other relevant program resources, obtain vendor quotes, and assist in submitting purchase requests in alignment with program budgets and instructional needs.
- Refer students to support services as needed, such as advising, financial resources, or career services, to promote program completion and employment outcomes.
- Analyze enrollment, completion, and credential attainment data to support program improvements.
- Participate in professional development events, Institutional Effectiveness, industry meetings, workforce conferences, and training sessions to remain current on certification standards, and best practices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director, Dean of Community Education, Associate Provost/South Campus Administrator, Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs, and President.

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- 3 years of full-time professional experience in CDL program management, or related field demonstrating compliance and program management experience.
- Valid State Driver’s License.
- 5 years of full-time professional experience in CDL program management, or related field demonstrating compliance and program management experience.
- Knowledge of CDL training practices, workforce education, and transportation industry standards.
- Familiarity with program coordination, student advising, and workforce development practices.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google applications, and student information systems such as Banner and ARGOS.
- Ability to work effectively with instructors, students, employers, and community partners to support CDL program operations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations and engage in student recruitment activities.
- Ability to prepare accurate reports, maintain program records, and analyze enrollment and completion data to support program improvements.
- Knowledge of procurement practices, including vendor communication, quote requests, and purchase submissions.
- Problem-solving skills to address program scheduling, instructional, or student-related issues as they arise.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment in program decisions.
