Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing friendly and attentive guest relations
- Manage restaurant reservation systems efficiently to accommodate guest requests and optimize seating flow
- Coordinate with the dining team to assign tables and ensure timely seating of guests
- Handle phone communication with professionalism, including taking reservations and answering inquiries using proper phone etiquette
- Maintain accurate records of reservations, waitlists, and guest preferences using restaurant table management systems such as Toast POS
- Assist with guest inquiries regarding menu items, wait times, and general restaurant information
- Support food safety standards by maintaining cleanliness in the host area and adhering to organizational procedures
Experience
- Prior experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant setting is highly preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person and over the phone
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management software and POS systems such as Toast POS is advantageous
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and guest flow efficiently
- Basic math skills for handling seating calculations and reservation adjustments
- Previous food service experience is a plus, providing insight into restaurant operations and guest expectations
- Knowledge of food safety practices ensures a safe environment for both staff and guests
