The Club’s grounds and facilities are central to the member experience. From the clubhouse and dining areas to the marina, pool complex, and outdoor spaces, maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment is essential. The Facilities and Grounds team plays a critical role in ensuring that every part of the property operates smoothly and reflects the Club’s standards.
Position Summary
The Facilities Maintenance position is an important part of the Facilities and Grounds team, supporting the upkeep of the Club’s buildings, equipment, and outdoor areas. This role combines hands-on repairs, preventative maintenance, and general labor to help ensure the property operates smoothly on a daily basis.
This position is well suited for individuals with a broad skill set in facilities maintenance, including those with experience as a handyman, building maintenance technician, or general laborer. Candidates who are comfortable working across multiple trades such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, and basic electrical work will be especially successful in this role.
Key Responsibilities
General Maintenance and Repairs
- Perform routine and emergency repairs across clubhouse facilities, grounds, and equipment
- Maintain plumbing fixtures, electrical components, appliances, and building systems
- Complete carpentry, painting, and general repair work to maintain overall property condition
- Address maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner
Preventative Maintenance
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems
- Monitor and maintain HVAC systems, refrigeration units, ice machines, and other operational equipment
- Identify potential issues early and report findings to the Facilities and Grounds Director
Equipment and Systems Oversight
- Use power tools and maintenance equipment safely and effectively
- Assist with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Support setup and breakdown for Club events when facilities assistance is required
Team Collaboration and Safety
- Work closely with the Facilities team and other departments to support Club operations
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines when performing maintenance tasks
- Participate in team meetings and communicate updates on ongoing work
- Respond to urgent repair needs and assist during emergency situations
Ideal Background
We are seeking candidates who are hands-on, reliable, and comfortable working across a range of maintenance tasks. Strong candidates often come from:
- Facilities maintenance or building operations roles
- Handyman or contractor experience
- Construction or skilled trades support roles
- Private clubs, hotels, schools, or commercial properties
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1 to 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, general labor, or related work preferred
- Working knowledge of basic trades including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting
- Ability to use power tools and perform general repair work safely
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
Preferred:
- Experience in a private club, hospitality, or multi-facility environment
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, pumps, and mechanical systems
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to perform repetitive motions and manual labor tasks
