Job Summary
Primary Function:
Support teachers in implementing an integrated, standards-based curriculum that utilizes constructivist instructional methods in the appropriate subject matter and grade level. Support teachers in creating and maintaining a healthy and safe learning environment that demonstrates respect for all and supports student success. Support teachers in evaluating student learning and adapting to evaluation data to continually improve our academic program
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
(*) High School Diploma;
(*) Minimum of two years of college (48 semester units completed);
(*) Valid California 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit (preferred);
(*) Familiarity working with students in a tutoring environment;
(*) TB clearance & and DOJ fingerprint clearance;
(*) Possess/maintain valid infant, child and Adult CPR/First Aid/AED certification

Larchmont is a constructivist school. Constructivism is a theory of learning which holds that each of us has a unique schema of the world based on our lived experience and that by interacting with our environment we make connections to what we already know and construct new meaning. It is therefore essential that we know our students well to be able to meet them where they are and grow from there. We do this through small class size, looping, longer periods of instruction, and a focus on social-emotional development and community K-12.
