As our Maintenance Technician, you will be the backbone of our hotel’s physical property. Your skills will directly impact our guests' comfort, safety, and overall stay by ensuring that our guest rooms, common areas, equipment, and grounds are beautifully maintained and fully functional.
We are looking for someone proactive, detail-oriented, and ready to tackle a variety of daily hands-on projects with a friendly, professional attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Room & Facility Repairs: Respond promptly to daily maintenance requests (work orders) from guests and staff. Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs in plumbing (leaks, clogged drains), electrical (changing light fixtures, outlets, switches), and HVAC/PTAC units.
- Preventative Maintenance: Execute the hotel’s routine preventative maintenance schedule for all guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house equipment to extend assets' lifespan and avoid major breakdowns.
- Pool & Spa Care: Perform daily chemical testing, balance the water quality, and maintain the pool and hot tub areas in accordance with state and local regulations to ensure a safe environment for guests.
- Cosmetic Upkeep: Complete basic carpentry, drywall patching, painting, caulking, and wallpaper repairs to keep the interior of the hotel looking fresh and brand-new.
- Grounds & Exterior Care: Maintain the curb appeal of the property. This includes trash pickup in the parking lot and keeping walkways safe and clear (including basic seasonal snow removal/salting or lawn care assistance as needed).
- Safety & Compliance: Inspect and maintain fire safety equipment, exit signs, emergency lighting, and security hardware. Keep the maintenance workshop clean, organized, and securely locked.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 1–2 years of general maintenance or handyman experience preferred (experience in hospitality, apartment complex maintenance, or construction trades is a huge plus).
- Technical Knowledge: Basic, comfortable working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand or walk for long periods, climb ladders, and work comfortably in tight spaces or varying indoor/outdoor weather conditions.
- Attributes: Strong time-management skills with the ability to work independently. Excellent communication skills and a professional, helpful attitude when interacting with hotel guests and team members.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
