Key Responsibilities
- Safely receive and unload incoming shipments, including steel deliveries, using forklifts and bridge cranes.
- Inspect materials and verify items and quantities against packing slips, purchase orders, and receiving documentation.
- Identify and report shortages, overages, damage, and other shipment discrepancies according to established procedures.
- Label, organize, store, and transfer received materials to designated warehouse or production locations.
- Complete receiving and inventory transactions in company software while maintaining accurate, organized inventory.
- Stage materials for scheduled equipment builds, pull and verify customer orders, and replenish production floor stock.
- Monitor assigned workloads, adjust work pace as needed, and complete responsibilities according to production schedules.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment by inspecting material-handling equipment and following all safety, lifting, rigging, and company procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Ability to successfully complete Lapeyre Stair’s forklift and crane certification.
- Ability to understand and follow established material-handling, load-control, and workplace safety procedures.
- Ability to become proficient with company software and systems, including MAPICS and SharePoint.
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned responsibilities effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform the essential duties identified in the Functional Job Description, including lifting and moving up to 55 pounds.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Previous receiving and shipping experience.
- Experience unloading steel or other long, heavy, or irregularly shaped materials.
- Experience operating a forklift and/or crane.
- Experience using manufacturing or inventory management software.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
