1st Shift Part-Time Housekeeping

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Clean residents’ rooms daily
2. Sweep and mop floors daily
3. Disinfect nightstands, bed rails, over-the-bed tables, trapezes, telephones, remotes, light switches, door handles, call lights, urinal holders, fall mats, over bed light, vents, chairs, window/sills, TV’s, picture frames and shelves and all other high touch areas
4. Hang up and take down cubical curtains
5. Clean restrooms (both public and resident)
6. Clean spas and attended baths
7. Clean storage closets
8. Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, rolls, multifold towels, tissues, hand sanitizer, etc. in all areas as required
9. Weekly dusting
10. Check plants and flowers daily, water if needed
11. Stocking soiled and clean utilities
12. Washing lifts
13. Clean a unit after a resident has expired or discharged
14. Completion of a room change
15. Check spill buckets and cleaners in janitors closets daily; refill if needed
16. Cleaning janitor closet and filling all supplies daily
17. Stocking attends daily
18. Spot clean carpets and chairs
19. Vacuuming carpeted areas
20. Clean dining rooms and/or day rooms after each meal and emptying trash
21.  Cleaning and sanitizing dining room and/or day room and pod areas after breakfast and lunch or as needed throughout the day
22. Wash beds every 8 weeks
23. Fill out and submit maintenance requests
24. Report any necessary repairs
25. In all areas; keeping walls, baseboards, and windows clean
26. Answering pages; assisting with residents’ needs if qualified
27. Cleaning offices, charting rooms, med rooms, serenity room, cafeterias, attended baths and pantries
28. Dusting, cleaning fans and washing walls
29. Buffing floors
30. Scrubbing bathroom tiles
31. Transporting furniture during room changes and/or unit cleaning
32. Daily / Weekly / Monthly Charting
33. Cleaning front offices and lobby areas
34. Assist in making beds when needed

Required Qualifications

1. High school graduate preferred
2. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
3. Must be able to read, follow oral directions and write legibly
4. Must be honest, trustworthy and possess tolerance for all individuals
5. Must be able to communicate with other departments
6. Must have good physical and mental health. You will fill out an employee health history
7. Must be able to work with little or no supervision
8. Able to work with employees, residents, families, physicians, therapists, and consultants
9. Must be able to handle multiple tasks with interruptions
10. Must have a pleasant personality and good telephone skills

Physical Requirements/Risk Exposure

1. Lift, carry, and/or transfer -50 pounds
2. Push and/or pull - 225 pounds
3. Stand, squat, stoop, kneel, stretch, climb, bend, and twist
4. Tasks assigned to this position involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood or body fluids
