Job Summary
The Front Desk Night Auditor is responsible for providing excellent guest service during overnight hours while ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel. This position handles guest check-ins and check-outs, processes daily financial reports, maintains hotel security, and prepares the property for the next business day.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesGuest Service
- Welcome guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
- Check guests in and out efficiently.
- Answer phone calls and assist guests with questions, requests, and concerns.
- Resolve guest issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a positive first and last impression for all guests.
Front Desk Operations
- Verify and update reservations in the property management system.
- Process payments and maintain accurate guest accounts.
- Ensure guest information is complete and matches valid identification.
- Maintain an organized and professional front desk area.
- Monitor room availability and upcoming arrivals.
Night Audit Responsibilities
- Complete the nightly audit process and balance daily transactions.
- Reconcile cash, credit card, and other payment reports.
- Generate and distribute required daily reports to management.
- Verify third-party reservations and ensure accuracy.
- Prepare arrival reports and room key packets for the morning shift.
Property & Security Monitoring
- Conduct routine property walks to ensure guest safety and security.
- Monitor hotel activity and report suspicious behavior immediately.
- Ensure lobby, breakfast area, and common areas remain clean and presentable.
- Respond to emergencies according to hotel policies and procedures.
Communication & Teamwork
- Leave detailed shift notes for management and incoming staff.
- Communicate important guest concerns, maintenance issues, and operational updates.
- Assist housekeeping and maintenance departments when necessary.
- Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous hotel, customer service, or front desk experience preferred.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn hotel software systems.
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the property for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Performance Expectations
- Deliver outstanding guest service at all times.
- Maintain accurate records and reports.
- Complete all night audit duties before shift end.
- Ensure the property is secure, clean, and prepared for the morning shift.
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail.
Position Reports To: Front Desk Manager / General Manager
Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (including weekends and holidays as required)
Pay: $13.73 - $15.00 per hour
