Job Summary

The Front Desk Night Auditor is responsible for providing excellent guest service during overnight hours while ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel. This position handles guest check-ins and check-outs, processes daily financial reports, maintains hotel security, and prepares the property for the next business day.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesGuest Service

  • Welcome guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Check guests in and out efficiently.
  • Answer phone calls and assist guests with questions, requests, and concerns.
  • Resolve guest issues promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain a positive first and last impression for all guests.

Front Desk Operations

  • Verify and update reservations in the property management system.
  • Process payments and maintain accurate guest accounts.
  • Ensure guest information is complete and matches valid identification.
  • Maintain an organized and professional front desk area.
  • Monitor room availability and upcoming arrivals.

Night Audit Responsibilities

  • Complete the nightly audit process and balance daily transactions.
  • Reconcile cash, credit card, and other payment reports.
  • Generate and distribute required daily reports to management.
  • Verify third-party reservations and ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare arrival reports and room key packets for the morning shift.

Property & Security Monitoring

  • Conduct routine property walks to ensure guest safety and security.
  • Monitor hotel activity and report suspicious behavior immediately.
  • Ensure lobby, breakfast area, and common areas remain clean and presentable.
  • Respond to emergencies according to hotel policies and procedures.

Communication & Teamwork

  • Leave detailed shift notes for management and incoming staff.
  • Communicate important guest concerns, maintenance issues, and operational updates.
  • Assist housekeeping and maintenance departments when necessary.
  • Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous hotel, customer service, or front desk experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn hotel software systems.
  • Ability to work independently during overnight hours.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the property for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Performance Expectations

  • Deliver outstanding guest service at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Complete all night audit duties before shift end.
  • Ensure the property is secure, clean, and prepared for the morning shift.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail.

Position Reports To: Front Desk Manager / General Manager
Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (including weekends and holidays as required)

Pay: $13.73 - $15.00 per hour
