Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled, patient-focused RVT or Veterinary Assistant to join our team in a fast-paced and growing practice. We value every team member’s contribution and believe that high-quality patient care is achieved through best practices veterinary medicine, mutual respect and strong teamwork.
The ideal candidate has experience in multiple aspects of veterinary care, including excellent patient communications, history taking and education, surgery, dentistry, radiography, laboratory procedures, as well as willingness to help maintain a clean, safe, and organized hospital environment .
Requirements:
- At least 3 years previous experience as an RVT or Veterinary Assistant.
- Proficiency in restraint techniques and administering medications.
- Ability to perform venipuncture, take radiographs and dental radiographs and cleanings.
- Utilize blood and urine diagnostics, ear cytologies
- Surgery preparation and assistance and skilled anesthesia management .
- Strong communication skills with veterinarians, co-workers and ability to educate clients regarding common veterinary conditions, diseases, terminology, and products/services.
- Willing to become proficient with new technologies.
- Dedication to providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Participate in daily cleaning and maintenance of hospital areas.
Work Schedule:
- Four day workweek: 8 am - 5 pm, with same day off
- Saturdays: 8 am - 12 pm, on a rotating schedule
- No overnight cases or on-call responsibilities
- No boarding or grooming
