We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our diverse team as a Veterinary Assistant. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort of animals.
- Perform safe animal handling and restraint techniques. Be able to safely lift 30 pounds.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian, following proper protocols.
- Provide basic animal care, including feeding, bathing, and exercising animals.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the clinic, including kennel areas and exam rooms.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with both clients and team members.
- Assist with laboratory tasks such as sample collection and processing.
- Support front desk operations and help ensure smooth daily workflows.
- Able to maintain accurate medical records of treatments, observations, and communications.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is appreciated but not required. We are happy to teach and provide hands on learning opportunities.
- Ability to multitask and work in a team setting.
- Willingness to care for various species of animals safely, including dogs, cats, and the occasional exotic animal.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
