What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Entry Clerk position at Lantern Point Events?
Data Entry Clerk
More information is moving through our Montgomery office, and we need two Data Entry Clerks who can help us keep it accurate, current, and properly organized. One opportunity is full-time and the other is part-time, so please tell us which schedule works best for you when applying.
This is focused work with a clear purpose. You will spend most of your day reviewing information, entering it into the correct system, and checking that the finished record matches the original. If you like completing one task properly before moving to the next—and you take satisfaction in getting the details right—this could suit you very well.
Two places on the team
Full-time schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid meal break.
Part-time schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., totaling 20 hours each week.
Both Data Entry Clerk positions are fully on-site in Montgomery.
How the work moves
A typical assignment will follow a straightforward process:
- Review the source. Check incoming forms, documents, or electronic information for completeness.
- Enter the details. Transfer the information carefully into the correct fields and records.
- Check your work. Compare the completed entry with the original and correct any mistakes.
- Close the loop. Save or file the record correctly and flag anything that cannot be resolved independently.
You will also update existing records, identify duplicate or missing information, maintain orderly digital folders, and complete routine progress checks. Most of the role is centered on records and accuracy rather than front-desk coverage or constant phone work.
What matters at your desk
Previous data entry experience is welcome, although it is not essential. We are open to candidates who can demonstrate good computer confidence and a careful approach to repetitive work.
You should be able to:
- Type accurately while maintaining a steady pace
- Follow written processes without skipping steps
- Work with numbers, names, dates, and reference information
- Ask for clarification instead of guessing
- Manage confidential information responsibly
- Remain focused when completing similar tasks throughout the day
Experience using spreadsheets or record-management systems would be useful. A college degree is not required.
