Lanteris Space Systems is seeking a Mechanical/Thermal Engineering Intern to support the design and development of our spacecraft systems. The primary location is Palo Alto, CA; however, occasional work in San Jose, CA, may be needed. The role will contribute to the development, analysis and production of satellite thermal systems, sub-assemblies, and components.

The role will contribute to the development, analysis and production of satellite thermal systems, sub-assemblies, and components.
What You’ll Be Doing
The role may include a variety of projects, such as
- Front-end thermal design, calculations, model development and simulation
- Thermal hardware design, drawing development, production and integration
- Development of thermal test requirements and documentation
- Thermal test preparations, setup and execution
- Trending and analysis of on-orbit spacecraft data
- Infrared imaging and post-processing
- Development of tools and documentation to improve work processes
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program with completion of two years or more, or a Master's degree program, in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related discipline.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or similar suite
- Interest in aerospace or mechanical design
- Ability to work on-site in Palo Alto, CA and/or San Jose, CA
- Strong verbal and written communication, organizational and leadership skills
- Group project experience, ability to collaborate with team members of different technical disciplines
- Strong computer skills, preferably familiarity with Python, MATLAB, Sharepoint, Thermal Desktop, PTC Creo and/or AutoCAD
- Completion of college-level heat transfer and/or mechanical design courses
- Experience or interest in process improvements
