We are looking for a Sr. Embedded Software Development Engineer to join our team in San Jose, CA. In this role you will work with Software System Architects to design and develop software for emulators used in testbeds for validating the flight software on commercial and civil satellites performing missions involving communication, earth observation, and lunar gateway activities.

What You'll Do Day-to-day (with Your Colleagues)
- Collaborate with hardware and software leads to understand, capture, and execute on requirements and design specifications
- Work in a laboratory environment with avionics, test equipment, and test systems
- Creation of HWIL test systems and simulators with physical devices and consideration for real-time behavior and hardware interfaces
- Support deployment and end-users of test equipment, including creating documentation, user’s manuals, configuration-management/continuous-integration-systems, and real-time troubleshooting on-site at San Jose, CA
- Emphasis on hardware/software interfaces that are integrated into an end-to-end test system with closed-loop capabilities
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in real-time software development and integration with hardware systems
- Experience with RTOS (E.g. VxWorks, Greenhills Integrity, Real-time Linux, FreeRTOS)
- Experience with real-time application development concepts, such as scheduling, performance benchmarking and I/O
- Experience with verification methodologies for embedded systems
- Experience with Application Programming interface design and development
- Experience in simulating electrical sensor and actuator signals. Test systems used for validating GN&C control system under closed-loop control
- Experience in software modeling and simulation for various devices on space vehicle subsystems
- Proficiency in electrical design and integration of hardware systems and support equipment (PCB, Harness, IC, Test Equipment)
- Strong understanding of Linux kernel module development concepts and conventions
- Knowledge of legacy hardware and software
- FPGA design experience
- The base pay for this position within California is: $143,000.00 - $238,000.00 annually.
