At Lanteris Space Systems, our next generation spacecraft range from Earth observation to interplanetary missions, including NASA's Artemis Program, Lunar Gateway Power and Propulsion Element (PPE). For the Summer 2026 season, we are looking for students to join our Avionics Subsystem/Electrical Engineering team. This position provides an opportunity to apply and build-upon your classroom knowledge and grow your skills on projects that have significant impact. You will be exposed to Avionics hardware development for Command & Data Handling (C&DH) systems, as well as development of Avionics subsystem requirements and specifications, flow down of avionics & data handling requirements into unit specifications and, subsystem verification and validation activities.
Collaborating closely with a cohort of electrical, mechanical, test and system engineers, you may be required to develop electrical schematics, PCB board layouts, generate various specifications, and execute test activities in the laboratory. You may work with hardware in the laboratory to verify it is configured and communicates properly with other avionics, and/or may help trouble shoot problems on the real spacecraft. As part of subsystem design, you may evaluate and optimize data bus selection and design, generate telemetry budgets & other inputs for avionics subsystem sizing, and collaborate with Flight Software, Database, Harness, Power, Thermal, and groups in support of design, verification and validation of the designed system.
Minimum Requirements
The salary range listed is based on two years or more of completed studies. This range will vary based on the number of years of experience and work location.

Minimum Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with completion of two years or more, or master's degree program in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related discipline
- Familiarity with the space environment and its effect on satellite systems
- Good understanding of mathematics, physics, materials and chemistry as they relate to electrical circuits
- Good understanding of how to use basic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMM and function generators
- Some experience in analysis, design, and implementation of hardware systems, including high-speed digital circuit design and embedded processing and control
- Some exposure to electronics design and electrical communication standards, such as RS-422/485, MIL-STD-1553, SpaceWire/Ethernet, CAN, SPI, I2C
- Some exposure to computer aided design tools such as SPICE, Verilog, VHDL, ADS, AWR or CST.
- Some exposure to programming languages such as C or Python
- Strong verbal and written communication, organization and leadership skills are essential
