Cable Installation Technician | Owatonna & Rochester, MN

We are currently seeking experienced Cable Installation Technician to Owatonna and Rochester, MN to join our field operations team.

Position type:

• 1099 Contract.

Please, note:

• This position requires a background check and a drug test.
• This position requires work authorization and a valid DL.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in cable or telecom installation.
• Strong understanding of installation standards, signal testing, and customer setup.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs, climb ladders, and work in attics, basements, and crawlspaces.
• Must have your own professional tool set and mobile phone as outlined in the company’s required equipment checklist.
• Having your own white minivan or pickup truck with a ladder rack is a plus — if not, we can connect you with partner companies that offer vehicle and ladder leasing options.
• Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
• Commitment to following safety protocols and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, activate, and troubleshoot residential fiber internet services
• Perform FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) installations and customer setups
• Install and configure ONTs, routers, modems, and networking equipment
• Perform fiber testing, signal verification, and quality checks
• Run fiber/coax cable inside and outside residential properties
• Complete installations according to company and customer standards
• Troubleshoot service issues and ensure customer satisfaction
• Complete required documentation, photos, and job reports through company systems
• Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment

Compensation & Benefits:

• Weekly direct deposit (with a 3-week hold).
