Job Summary:

Teach courses in Communication, consistent with current developments in the discipline and teaching methods. Participate in program/department meetings and divisional/college-wide committees with a focus on continual improvement of programs and learning outcomes. Participate in curriculum and course development, course and program coordination, tutoring and advising students, mentoring and reviewing peers, and College initiatives. Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.


Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Speech and/or Communication (from a regionally accredited college or university) or a Master’s degree (from a regionally accredited college or university) with a minimum of 18 semester graduate credits (or the equivalent number of quarter hours) in the discipline.

Previous teaching or teaching assistant experience.

Alternative Qualification:
Master’s degree with the equivalent of two years’ experience working in a field specifically related to the course being taught and/or developing and presenting professional public speeches.


Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching experience at the college level.
