We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Bilingual Child Care Center Aide (Teacher's Assistant) in Annapolis, MD to support our lead teachers and provide a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for young children in accordance with Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) regulations. Fluency in Spanish is required for effective communication with our diverse families.
Position Details- Job Title: Child Care Center Aide / Teacher’s Assistant
- Location: Annapolis, MD
- Schedule: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (40 hours per week)
- Compensation: $16.00 - 18.00/hr

The Aide will work under the direct supervision of the Lead Teacher to perform duties essential for the high-quality care and education of our children:
- Child Supervision & Safety: Ensure the constant, sound, and sight supervision of all children in the classroom, on the playground, and during transitions to maintain a safe and nurturing environment.
- Classroom Support: Assist the Lead Teacher with the implementation of the daily curriculum, prepare necessary learning materials, and facilitate small group activities (e.g., arts, reading, games).
- Basic Care: Tend to the basic physical needs of children, including assisting with feeding, toileting/diapering, handwashing, and nap time supervision.
- Communication: Fluently communicate in Spanish with children and their families to promote a welcoming environment and relay important daily information. Some communication in English with families may be required on occasion, but this is not a primary responsibility of the TA.
- Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a clean, orderly, and appealing classroom environment, including cleaning and sanitizing toys, work surfaces, and children’s toileting areas according to health and safety procedures.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to all policies set forth by the center and the Maryland State Department of Education Office of Child Care (MSDE OCC).
- Age: Must be at least 16 years old.
- Authorization: Must have valid work authorization in the United States.
- Language: Fluency in Spanish is required. (Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.)
- Background Check: Must successfully pass a state and federal criminal background check and child protective services clearance prior to beginning employment.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred.
Per MSDE OCC regulations, the successful candidate must complete the following training requirements:
- Basic Health and Safety Training (within 90 days of employment).
- 3-Hour Aide Orientation (within 6 months of employment).
- Continued Training: Must complete a minimum of 6 clock hours of MSDE-approved training annually (Core of Knowledge).
- Safety Certifications: Must complete and maintain current certifications in First Aid and CPR.
